Is an electrician required to power cycle or reset a Wattwatchers device?

No, you do not need a licensed electrician to power-cycle or reset a Wattwatchers devices

You do not need a licensed electrician to power-cycle or reset a Wattwatchers device so long as the person is responsible for the site and also follows any access requirements or procedures at business and commercial sites.

For devices that are installed on Commercial or Industrial premises, we strongly encourage consulting someone with adequate knowledge around the switchboard (e.g. Facility Manager or Electrician) before performing the power cycle.

Power cycling a Wattwatchers device only requires turning off the circuit breaker or main switch supplying power to the Auditor for at least 30 seconds. No panels need to be removed to access the Wattwatchers Auditor device or the wiring.

If this procedure does not work, please also check our article on What to do if an Auditor device is offline.

If you are uncomfortable or have any concerns, please contact a licensed electrician.
